Just in time for the holidays, here I am screwing up Auld Lang Syne on the banjo. Grab a seat by the tree, light a fire, cozy up to a mug of nog and just watch this thing on repeat.

Hot Spots for when Sacramento Goes Cold

Winter actually came to Sacramento this week and everybody is freaking out. Sure, we like to wear a superfluous scarf on a mild autumn evening for fashion’s sake, but to legitimately require a scarf to keep warm is a foreign concept to us Sacramentans.

I, for one, welcome the cold as a rare chance to pair comforts foods and hot cocktails with a chilly day. Go ahead and make fun, but I like that kind of thing. For those of you who are like me, I now provide you with my favorite ways to warm up on a chilly Sacramento day…but remember winter is short lived here, so hit these up while you can. (more…)

Those lucky enough to live near me enjoy the added bonus of also living near the Hoppy Brewing Company. Outside of my lucky neighbors, it’s also a popular spot with those Sac State kids as their fine univeristy (from which I graduated) is just a few blocks away.  (more…)

Run to Feed the Hungry Results

What is it that makes an out-of-shape guy who hasn’t jogged to the mailbox over the past year think he can run 6.2 miles on Thanksgiving morning? Not really sure. I guess I just wanted to see if I could do it. And I could…but just barely. Of course, I haven’t been able to walk since then, but whatever. (more…)
