Safe Rides was ok, but kinda took forever and it didn't take you to other bars - only home. This is much better.

There is a pick-up at Folsom & 65th...not a bad walk from Tahoe Park.

Yes, but we did have the Sac State Safe Rides!
I'm excited to try the Hopper. I want them to have an East Sac stop and potentially a Tahoe Park pick up.

I for sure need some ranch or blue cheese to dip my wing and my shirt in, I also want them real saucy, am I eating wings or what?
On the brunch menu, the pulled pork eggs benedict with chipotle hollandaise sauce is pretty mind blowing.
They also have "skinny" cocktails, nice touch.
I have faith in the DeVere's boys that they will add some traditional dipping sauces for the wings along with some nacho cheese sauce for the pretzel and oh man, if they put a proper bucket of chicken on the menu, Henry will have to try and stop me from kissing him right on the lips every time I see him!
I agree, it is not a typical "sports bar", I too would have liked a little bit more relaxed atmosphere, but more than anything, I am happy the DeVere's boys and Mason brought another original Sacramento great place to downtown.

After noon on October 9, 1994 I was driving a 15 passenger van full of teenagers home from a weekend camping trip at Bothe-Napa State Park in the Napa Valley. As we started West on Hwy. 121 and got out into the open we could see far out in front of us a helicopter with something hanging under it.

Pretty soon every body in the van was craning their necks to see it and try to guess what it was. "It's an 'h'", they yelled, "It's a giant 'h'", because the thing dangling under the helicopter looked like an enormous, lower case 'h'. finally after much yelling and guessing it got quiet and then three people yelled it out at the same time, "It's a dinosaur!!".

There was a lot of yelling after that too but eventually the bizarre escort was lost to our site as we headed down toward Sears Point to get home to San Rafael. That was my epic introduction to Dixie but I wouldn't figure it out until months later when we took the same group of kids on a ski trip and happened to drive through Dixon, California on our way to Lake Tahoe.

Somewhere in our house here in Austin Texas my 21 year-old daughter, who was three years old at the time of our original sighting, has one of those solid rubber toy models of Dixie that they used to sell at the store. It would be hard, indeed, to forget Dixie.
